This scan is beneficial for women who are experiencing pain, abnormal / heavy bleeding, bleeding in-between periods, bleeding during intercourse, postmenopausal bleeding, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and to check coil position IUCD / IUD.

The scan will be conducted transvaginal internally (externally on tummy if needed).  The internal scan is necessary as we cannot usually get accurate results through scanning externally (tummy) alone. 

During the scan the sonographers will be looking at- 

Check for Fibroids or Polyp

The Ovaries (check for any cyst)

The thickness of the lining of the womb (endometrium)

Any changes noticed in Uterus

Any Free fluid collection

Position of Coil

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)

Our sonographers will create a full report of the scan findings to take them with you along with the medical images in a USB stick.
